X-ray and Radio properties of a sample of 3CRR radio sources
Abstract
We present a study of 93 3CRR radio sources, for which both 5GHz core flux and at least one X-ray observation (ROSAT, BeppoSAX, Chandra and XMM-Newton) are available. The sample includes 20 FRII and 73 FRII optically classified as High Excitation Galaxies, Low Excitation Galaxies, Weak Quasars and Quasars. It spans about seven orders of magnitude in X-ray (2-10 keV) luminosity and about eight in 5 GHz luminosity. For each class (and sub-class) radio-X-ray spectral index (α{ rx}), Core Dominance (possible indicator of the jet orientation) and mass accretion rate properties have been explored. We will discuss spectral, geometrical and accretion mode differences in order to assess the jet importance in the different classes (and sub-classes) and characterize any possible jet-disk relationship.
